2008 Australian Little League Championships
REDLANDS Thursday 5th- Sunday 8th June 2008
Little League Background
The Australian National Championships are a major part of the wider internationally recognised Little League World Series which has been held annually since 1947 at South Williamsport, Pennsylvania, to crown each years Little League World Champions.
For the first time in history, Australia will be involved in the Little League World Championship Series. Teams consist of 14 players who all come from a local area and range from 11-13 years of age. Each state will host a Little League State Championship (Queensland’s State Championships were also held at Redlands) with the winner progressing towards the National Championships and playing off for the opportunity to represent Australia in the Asia region championships in Hong Kong in July and then in the World Series in America in August 2008. What a fantastic thrill for a 12 year old to get such a tremendous opportunity to be part of a world wide sporting event.
Mission Statement
The Redlands Little League Organising Committee aims to create and celebrate the launch of Little League in Australia. The committee aims to create an atmosphere of good spirit, fun and enjoyment. All efforts will be focused around enhancing the atmosphere and experience of all those involved with the event. We aim to dream big and watch some great baseball along the way!

SMP images are the official photographers for the Australian Little League Championships. With their past experience supporting major Australian baseball events, such as the 2008 Claxton Shield, we are proud to have them on board. Check out their website above for pictures of previous events. The SMP team will be set up in the Redlands club rooms for the entire tournament with a computer and data projector to display all the images taken over the long weekend.
On the first day of the tournament, SMP will be taking team photo's which will be available for purchase on that day for $10. These will then be available for collection on Saturday.
The other key product offered will be a CD of high resolution images of each player taken throughout the entire weekend. These will be available for purchase throughout the tournament and will be posted out in the following weeks after the event. CD's will be at a fee of $25 per disk plus postage.
Individual enlarged photo's will also be available for purchase and prices will be available upon enquiry.
